Swordfishers

Our family genealogical research on our maternal grandfather's side led us to Civitavecchia (near Rome). Indeed, it was around 1900 that the Agugliaro family decided to settle in Sète (another port city), in France.

But it is in Sicily that we found the origin of the Agugliaro family's ancestral home: Trapani. Indeed, our ancestors were swordfish fishermen there - "Aguglia" (very fine fish with a pointed nose).

Curiously, we have always maintained a deep connection with Italy in general, and with Sicily in particular, like an invisible thread that led us back to this luminous island.

It was in 2015, during our first trip to Sicily, that we went to Noto for the first time with our two daughters. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the golden beauty of the city, its baroque charm, its peaceful way of life, and all the cultural, tourist and gastronomic opportunities that were available to us in the surrounding area.

Very quickly, Noto became our refuge, our enchanted escape. We returned regularly, three or four times a year, always with the same enthusiasm, renting houses in the heart of the historic center. Each stay strengthened our attachment: the light-filled alleyways, the citrus scents in spring, the summer evenings in the lively streets… everything seemed to whisper that we were where we belonged.

Then one day, almost by chance, we rented the superb house "La Dimora sotto le Stelle". It was love at first sight. When we learned it was for sale, the decision was obvious, as if the story had already been written.

Today, we are its proud owners, deeply grateful for this unexpected journey. And it is with immense joy that we can now share this unique place with you, so that you too can experience a little of the Sicilian magic that has transformed our lives.
